Thank you to all our runners, sponsors, volunteers and donors who joined us on Sunday, May 6, 2012, for the 4th Annual Maryland Half Marathon, at the Maple Lawn Community in Fulton, Maryland.
This race is unique in that 100% of all net proceeds go to the University of Maryland Marlene and Stewart Greenebaum Cancer Center (UMGCC).
UMGCC is making a difference in the lives of those affected by cancer. As an NCI-designated cancer center, it ranks in the top tier of centers nationwide for cancer research and patient care. The cancer center is listed among the top 25 cancer programs nationally according to U.S. News & World Report’s America’s Best Hospitals.
There are some new and updated programs being planned for the 2012 race event including the debut of Dozer's Dash and the revamping of Marlene's Mission fundraising program to allow for expanded participation. And, of course, The County Cup returns for a 4th year as runners vie to bring home the cup in honor of their "home" county.
The Maryland Half Marathon has raised $750,000 for the Greenebaum Cancer Center in its first three years. Our goal is to reach $1 million in 2012 -- and you can help! Sign up today to run the Maryland Half Marathon and help make a difference in the fight against cancer.
